The Ren Source is a website dedicated to us ~ the living history enthusiast. Whether you are into living history, re-enactment, recreation or are just a fair-goer, this website is for you.

We offer a very complete and easy to use calendar of events. If you "Just know" there is an event somewhere but can't find it online, chances are that we have found it for you and have it listed on our calendar.
Our goal is to provide a place where you can find out what is going on, where and when. You can also let others know about what you or your group are doing. It's easy to get your event listed on the calendar. Just shoot us an email with the details and we will post it after confirmation.
Got something to sell? We have a classified ads section that will allow you to make contact with those who need what you have or with those who have what you need. The classified ads section is open to the public and vendors. Banner Ad spaces and classified ad listings cost a small amount because internet bandwidth is not free. Everything else on the site is currently free.

Take a look at the reviews and scriptorium sections. There are already quite a few items listed for your pleasure and more are being added every day.

Why are we doing all of this when there are a zillion other websites out there already? Because there are a zillion other websites out there. Not everyone has the time to go looking for events or vendors or performers etc. We do.
We're working to get that information and put it all in one place for you so you don't have to surf around playing hit and miss.

We hope to be able to bring people who share the dream closer together and possibly help dispel some myths about period attire and practice(s) in the different parts of the world. Hopefully we can help inspire people who are interested in history to share their knowledge.
We know there are different "Flavors" of our hobby. There are those who enjoy being "Perfectly-period" correct in their attire and mannerisms. There are those who enjoy the "Fantasy" element. There are those who wish to do nothing more than put on some old-ish looking garb and pound on their friends with weapons. There is room for everyone in this dream.
